Privacy policy · last updated 28 July 2026
There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no analytics. The app has no advertising and no third-party trackers.
What Pip stores
Everything Pip remembers is kept on your device only, in the app's own storage:
- Your session settings — length, interval cycle, cue volume, theme
- Workouts you have saved and named
- A history of sessions you have run
- The date you first opened the app
None of this leaves your phone. Nobody, including the developer, can see it. Uninstalling Pip deletes all of it, and you can clear your session history at any time from Settings → History.
Permissions, and why
| Permission | Why Pip asks |
|---|---|
| Notifications | To show a card while a session is running, so you can check or stop it without unlocking your phone |
| Modify audio settings | To pause or lower your music around each cue, and to set the alarm volume for the length of a session |
| Foreground service, wake lock | To keep the timer running accurately while your screen is off and the phone is in your pocket |
Pip does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, storage, or health data, and it cannot read them.
Network use
Pip works offline. The only network request it ever makes is to check for an app update, which contacts Expo's update service at u.expo.dev. That request carries no personal information — only which version of the app is installed, so the server can say whether a newer one exists.
Children
Pip is suitable for all ages and collects nothing from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the date above will change with it.
